Ever searching for my place in the universe

I'm happily married guy and father that's pushing 40. I work, I travel when I can. I write and I barbecue. Those are the only real hobbies I have anymore.
I've had a few jobs in my past, I've worked retail, I've cooked and drove truck. During my cooking phase I wasted some time and even went to the Culinary Institute of America. Looking back, I don't know why. I've forgotten more things about cooking and running a restaurant than more people will ever really know.
Sometime ago I discovered Grand Sumo on YouTube thanks to Jason Sumo and his previous channel that has since been wiped from YouTube. I fell in love. The power and discipline of these men were amazing. On top of that, they looked kind of like I did. I didn't realize at the time what a deep dive that would take.
Sometime more recently thanks to Will Wight, Tao Wong, and Travis Baldree, I discovered a love for progression-fantasy, and all the books that word covers. Which led me to discovering the religions and ideologies that those came from; buddhism and daoism. Mind you, I've been called buddha online long before I ever knew about any of this stuff, really. I just had unimaginative friends, am fat, and liked my belly rubbed.

Hold on, before that... I was a new teenager rummaging around the library and found A Wizard of Earthsea. That's where my love for reading began, this little purple book with a wizard holding a staff in front of a big castle. From that, the delusion that people might want to read the words I write, which led us here.

Then, with barbecue, it seems like once every guy over the age of 30 decides to get really invested into either World War 2 History, or smoking meat. I chose the later, war was never much of an interest to me in my adult life. Wouldn't be very buddha of me if it was, right?

As for truck driving, well, besides cooking I don't really have any skills. I wanted / needed to make more money and I was much too lazy to keep slogging in kitchens. After I stopped working in kitchens I went back to retail and ended up in CDL school. I'm much happier now, and I work for what might be the largest private fleet in the world, so that's nice.

Anyway, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to put here but these are the ABC's of me, and these are my stories...

P.S. I swear I'm not a weeb, I'm really not. I don't really get into Anime and I don't walk around with a katana and a fedora. (flatcaps are cool though, right? RIGHT?!)
This is all because of my love for Sumo, Xianxia, and Ramen, and my internet persona.
